FM 311 – Thermal Storage and Propagation in PIPE-FLO (2 hours)

FM-311 will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn methods to evaluate the efficacy of their thermal storage units and determine critical time factors associated with chiller failure. In this 2-hour session, using a simplified model in a live, virtual hands-on environment, attendees will see how the settings in PIPE-FLO and OverTime are used in tandem to understand the system’s behavior with different control schemes, noting temperature rise and control changes on a time basis. A methodology for modeling thermal storage tanks with non-mixing baffles will be shown, along with a discussion on an approach on how PIPE-FLO may be used to assist in sizing thermal storage tanks.

Recommended Prerequisites: FM-105, FM-203
